FAQs
Still have questions?
What is the duration of the course?
The AEMP music production course has a duration of 4 months, during which 102.5 hours of training are carried out.
If I already have a certain level producing music, is this diploma for me?
Yes, absolutely. Producing on your own will take you far, but the self-taught approach is built piece by piece, according to what you need for each topic, and it leaves gaps that are hard to detect. Here you learn the complete and ordered workflow, with a teacher who reviews your productions. It is a solid foundation that is very difficult to achieve alone.
And you don’t need to start from zero: if you can demonstrate that you master the contents of the first module, Ableton Live Basic, you can move directly to the second, Ableton Live Pro. If you are interested, contact our admissions team.
Which musical styles will I work on in the diploma?
Mainly electronic music and urban music, which are the styles that define the programme. But if you are interested in more classical or acoustic styles, that’s not a problem: during the diploma you will learn to record, mix and master, and these techniques apply to any genre. Everything you learn can be applied to the styles you like most.
And you don’t need to start from zero: if you can demonstrate that you master the contents of the first module, Ableton Live Basic, you can move directly to the second, Ableton Live Pro. If you are interested, contact our admissions team.
When does the AEMP start?
Each year there are two intakes of our AEMP production course: in September and in January.
The course is face-to-face, but we offer an online option. This means that if you cannot attend the school in person because you live outside Girona, you can take the music production course online via live Zoom. This is also an advantage for students who decide to attend in person, since if they cannot attend a class, they can catch up later as the sessions are recorded to the school’s internal cloud.
After finishing the course, will I be able to keep the Ableton Live license?
Yes. Each student will receive a package with the necessary tools at the start of the course (Ableton Live Suite 12 license and sample packs), and these will belong to the student for life.
Do I need any qualification to enter the AEMP?
No prior qualification is necessary to take this course.
Is there a minimum age to take the AEMP?
Yes. You must be at least 16 years old to access the AEMP music production course.
There is no maximum age.
Where are the classes held?
The course is in a hybrid format.
The lessons are held in person at the Eumes school in Girona. The classes are delivered simultaneously online via the Zoom application.
Which days are there classes?
Classes are held three days a week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 18:30 to 21:00. This schedule has been chosen to maximise compatibility for those who want to combine AEMP with other studies or work commitments.
If I have no prior knowledge of production, can I join the course?
Yes, absolutely. The course is designed to start by providing a foundation in music production and Ableton Live, so we can bring everyone up to the same level.
Therefore, no prior knowledge is required to enrol in the course.
If you have any questions you can contact us by email at eumes@eumes.cat or by calling the school directly: 646 462 648.
Can I continue to the Advanced Music and Sound Diploma after the AEMP?
Yes, and with benefits. In June we hold an entrance exam for the Diploma, designed for those who are already 18 but do not have the Batxillerat (upper secondary certificate) or a vocational qualification.
If you pass it, not only do you gain access to the Diploma: we also recognise up to 3 subjects, which can mean a saving of up to 20% of the first year cost (up to €1,189).
If you already have the Batxillerat or a vocational qualification, the exam is not required: only the personal admissions interview.
